Hello Bricks Team,
I’m using the Bricks Form element and have enabled Required together with Show required asterisk.
Currently, when a field has a placeholder, Bricks automatically appends an asterisk to the placeholder text, for example:
placeholder=“E.g. John Doe *”
My expected behavior is:
The required asterisk appears only after the label
The placeholder remains clean, without the *
Could you please let me know:
If there is an official way to disable the required asterisk in placeholders?
Or if this behavior can be controlled via a setting, filter, or is planned to be improved in a future update?
Thank you for your support.
Best regards,
Kismet

Hi @Kismet and welcome to the forum .
currently there is no way to disable that asterisk, if the field is required.
There is already a feature request for this and we have internal improvement task as well. I’ll also link your topic in our internal task.
Browser: Chrome (new)
OS: Windows
Hi,
The option Show required asterisk is active in the form settings, the required asterisk is displayed for label, value and place holder at the same time. It is more logical to display the required asterisk only for the label if the field label is active. But if the label is disabled, it will be displayed for value and placeholder.

However, to collect feedback on only one topic, I’ll close this one and mark it as a duplicate. Once we implement this feature, we will update the topic mentioned above.
