DUPLICATE: Forms submissions not working properly

Browser: Chrome 141
OS: Windows / Android / iOS
Screenshot: Dropbox

In Bricks 2.1.1 and 2.1.2, forms submission is working in Desktop but not in Tablet and Mobile (landscape and portrait). When clicking the submit button in Desktop the form is sent immediately. However, when clicking the submit button in Tablet or in Mobile, a small spinning icon appears within the submit button (see attached photo), and the form in not sent even after couple of minutes. Tested in both Android and iOS.
When I reverted to Bricks 2.0.2 and it’s working fine.

Hi @litmol,

can you share a link where I can try that - possibly with a test form, so that I don’t populate live submissions with my test data? What is your form setup? Can you make a screenshot? I’m not sure how this has anything to do with screen size, but I would like to check it.

Before sending me a link, you can also try with a new form - if you just insert it, and enable submissions, does it work?

Best regards,
Matej

Hi Matej

After I downgraded to version 2.0.2 (from version 2.1.2) everything is working properly now, so I will not be able to regenerate the issue. I found out about that issue in version 2.1.2, when users complained that they can’t register to my website. I tested it on Android and iOS phons and realized that forms are not sent in Mobile. Based on an answer found in ChatGPT (it stated that it’s a known issue), I reverted to version 2.0.2 and it solved the problem. I’m not sure that I would like to upgrade to version 2.1.2 now, since I don’t have easy access to version 2.0.2 and if the problem reappears, it might take me some time to downgrade again.

Thanks

Hi @litmol,

you can always download older Bricks versions at https://my.bricksbuilder.io/, but I recommend that you create a staging access and send me a link - or even better, once you have a staging website, can you send temporary login credentials to your test/staging website and a link to this topic to help@bricksbuilder.io using the email address you used during the purchase, so we can take a look?

Sadly, I can’t replicate the issue locally, and without being able to do so, there is little chance that we can identify and fix it.

Thank you,
Matej

I received the Bricks license from a Web Developer, that worked on my website. Thus, I don’t have an account with Bricks and have no access to previous versions.
I’ll make a backup of the website (with the version 2.0.2), upgrade to version 2.1.2 so you could check for the issue first hand and then I aske my hosing provide to reload the backup

Hi @litmol,

in this case it’s best if the developer itself contacts us via email regarding your issue.

Best regards,
Matej

The website is now with version 2.1.3 and the issue persiste. I would appreciate if you could take a look.
I also emaild support two days ago (it was sent from my eamil that is linked to my activation code), but I didn’t hear back.
Thanks

I am also on Version: 2.1.3 - when I saw this post, I decided to test - and YES, on mobile, my forms just spin without ever submitting.

When I downgraded to version 2.0.2, as suggested above, the forms on mobile started submitting again.

Hi @litmol and @kaktitam,

this might be the same issue: WIP: Form Submission Bug with Caching Plugins After Update - #25 by itchycode

You could try clearing out the cache and or disabling caching plugins, and see if that helps.

Let me know. And if it helps, it’s very likely the same issue.

Hi,

I just received an email from Charaf saying that you were able to replicate the issue and will be working on a fix for our next release

Did anyone have any success with this issue? I seem to be having the same problem. with a couple of websites.

Disabling caching on pages with forms (within the cache plugin) solves the submit issue. That’s the roundabout until Bricks fix this bug.

Hi @MattyMac and @litmol,

this should be solved in the latest Bricks 2.1.4 update (SOLVED: Form Submission Bug with Caching Plugins After Update - #33 by timmse).

Can you test it and let me know?

Thanks,
Matej

I’ve tested it (v2.1.4) and emails are sent, on both Desktop and Mobile. However, in Mobile, sometimes there is a slight delay (3-5 seconds) before the email is sent.

Hi @litmol,

thanks for confirming. Then the issue seemed to be the same as posted above, and it’s now solved

I’ll mark the topic as a duplicate and close it, so that we have a feedback gathered on the other topic.

Thank you,
Matej
