Does Bricks Builder have these features?

I am planning to use the Oxygen Page Builder with the OxyMade CSS Framework which already has PurgeCSS for unused CSS selector removal. I am evaluating the usage of the Bricks Page Builder with the Automatic.CSS framework and ACSS Purger (Unused CSS Removal Plugin) as an updated stack.

Here are the questions you can answer to help me determine whether Bricks Page Builder is the right choice for me.

Design: Header

Does Bricks Builder save time creating Headers?

  • Does Bricks Builder have a mega-menu element similar to Oxygen’s OxyExtras MegaMenu?
  • How much time does it take to create the stripe Desktop and Mobile Header in Bricks?
  • How much time does it take to create the algolia Desktop and Mobile Header in Bricks?
  • How much time does it take to create the mcmaster Mobile Header in Bricks?
  • How much time does it take to create the fairplay [dot] ai Desktop and Mobile Header in Bricks? This website was created using Bricks Builder.

Design: Footer

Does Bricks Builder save time creating Footers?

  • How much time does it take to create the stripe Desktop (Grid) Footer in Bricks?
  • How much time does it take to create the elementor Mobile (Accordion) Footer in Bricks?

Optimization: CSS

Does Bricks Builder let you add inlined CSS to the of the HTML webpage on templates?

  • Bricks Builder Academy (Custom Code) indicates that custom code can be added to the <head> in a page-specific manner. Does using this method with templates apply to all respective pages?
  • Bricks Builder Academy (Custom Code) indicates that custom code can be added using code blocks. Can the code from these blocks be added to the webpage <head>?

Can you create custom stylesheets in Bricks? Read Oxygen Builder’s CSS Control issue for more information about the significance of this feature.

Other: Synchronization

Bricks Builder Academy (Remote Templates) shows that Bricks Builder lets you import designs, templates, and components from other websites. Does Bricks Builder let you use these remote templates as the single source of truth, where an update of the remote template on the origin website also updates the imported template on the imported websites?

Hi,
Welcome to the forum!

I’ll try to answer your questions as best I can and leave out the ones I don’t have a blanket answer for (how much time does it take…), as this is heavily dependent on your experience working with bricks and html/css in general.

You can use MegaMenus inside the nav or nestable nav element, yes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GbJx0JnDDE&t=212s

You have quite a few possibilities to add custom CSS in Bricks:

  • to the element itself (style tab » custom code)
  • to the post/page/template (page settings)
  • Global (Bricks Settings)

The code element inserts the code where it is placed. Use the page settings or the Bricks settings to add header, body or footer scripts/styles.

Not yet: Roadmap – Bricks
But of course you can include external stylesheets (child theme or with a plugin like code snippets).

No. Once the templates are inserted, there is no connection to the remote templates.

You can test Bricks for free and as long as you want on the Bricks Playground or alternatively buy directly - we offer a “no pressure” money back guarantee, so you can test and get to know Bricks intensively without any pressure.

I plan to purchase Bricks once the referenced Roadmap features have been implemented and tested.

Regarding the questions with non-blanket answers (e.g., how much time does it take), I suppose that I’m looking for a video creating any of the requested features. From the above comment (by timmse), it seems like creating these headers will be easy without factoring in animations.

I also found a component library that might be viable should Bricks out-of-the-box elements be underdeveloped: https://bricksextras.com/
