I’ve been working on SEO for my website, Flightd for the past six months. Despite consistent efforts with both on-page and off-page SEO, I haven’t seen the growth I expected. My target keywords are still not ranking, and the organic traffic remains low. I’m starting to wonder how long it typically takes for a site to start gaining visibility. Could I be missing something in my approach? Should I stay the course or try a new strategy? I’d really appreciate any advice, tips, or insights from others who have gone through a similar experience.
Hello, I am more a developer than SEO expert, but I will try to help.
I would start with fixing the website. Many links you have there doesn’t go anywhere or go where I would not expect. Your blog section does not work. The widget to find flights neither. Some pages seems to be taken directly from the template you use without changing the content.
Google is nowadays smart and valuate websites also by it’s quality. And if it’s poor, it will not rank well.
So I would start with fixing the website, improve it’s performance, improve accessibility. Install Google Search Console to see how is the page indexing. You can start writing some high quality content on specific long tail keywords and of course work on off-page SEO.
Keep in mind that flights and travel agencies are very competitive field and you are competing with huge companies that invest tons of money into SEO. So even with perfectly working website with correct key-words you might not achieve good positions.
And BTW, I see the page is not created with Bricks or Wordpress, if your off-page strategy is to get backlinks from forums like this, it will not be very helpful, because they are all nofollow.
Good luck!
