Display only parent categories.

Hello everyone!
I can’t find anything related to my request in documentation, hope somebody can help me.

Is there is any way to display only parent product categories in Query loop?

Also, for some reason, the template block at Canvas shows placeholders together with the data, the frontend doesn’t show that. Is this an error?

I already found solution for parent only, need help with first block - why it shows place holder {term_name} instead of rendering the first item. I.e. Digital Mixers is the first item, not {term_name}.
