Hi bricks team,
It would be very fast if we could double-click a component to go to the component editing settings.
Hi bricks team,
It would be very fast if we could double-click a component to go to the component editing settings.
I saw on YouTube that the webflow component has this approach and it looks very useful. I hope the bricks team will consider it.
Yes, the current workflow with selecting it on the right side, just to move the cursor over the whole canvas to the settings icon on the top left is terrible.
I found myself double clicking thinking it will trigger edit mode lol. We need this
Now we need to look for the edit button. This will make the process much easier. I hope it will be available in the official version 2.0.
Hello everyone,
I registered on the webflow playground to see how the component behaves in webflow. Double-clicking on a Webflow component is very smart. In fact, if we double-click on an image inside the component, we will be taken to the settings for that image inside the component. But if we double-click on the component empty space, we will be taken to the component settings.

Or maybe add the cog icon to click into it?
Double click can rename etc.

Would love this feature, I am constantly trying to click it too.
Advanced Themer has a feature similar to this, but it’s only enabling double click in the structure panel. Not the component itself on the canvas.
This would really improve the user experience, in my opinion. I currently edit all components as regular elements and convert them to components later, as this goes much faster. The downside of this is that you’ll have to link all variables afterward, which then takes extra time again. With a ‘double click to edit’ feature, I’m sure the workflow can be improved greatly.
no
right click > edit component
i can see people creating mess
accidently editing component origin instead of the instance…
on slow machines browser states can and will miss fire as well
some single intented clicks may become double click easily for those people and machines it will create bad ux as well.
if this feature ever comes it HAS TO BE a setting so we can disable it. idealy this feature should come as disabled.
