It would be nice to have a button to switch the colors from light mode to dark mode. Light mode colors would become dark mode colors and vice versa.

that is exacly what new feature brings. when you enable the dark mode for a color it gets inverted sometimes inverted color is good sometimes not. it should manualy finetuned anyway its fine for me.
