The Wordpress get_the_excerpt function calls the get_the_excerpt filter. This allows you to programmatically make modifications to the excerpt.
Bricks uses its own get_the_excerpt function (defined in includes/helpers.php), but omits calling the filter function. It is not a “bug” but means that plugins relying on the filter will not work with Bricks. This could very easily be fixed for an upcoming release.
