Bricks-type-hero, bricks-type-lead

Trying to figure out what to do with Rich Text > Type > Hero/Lead.
Not finding any documentation of this feature.

ATM all I can tell that it does is add a css class on the front end.

  • It doesn’t have any predefined styles.
  • Neither does it add the class to the Builder interface to allow me to use the wyswig to setup the global class styles.
  • I dont see the element in Theme Presets.

So, the only thing it does is add a class that I can style in an external (Non BB) stylesheet?
I feel like I’m missing something.

I feel like this is some sad little orphan of an idea.

Under Settings-> Theme Styles-> Typography-> Miscellaneous… are two items, Hero and Lead.

You can change all the font options, size, colour etc. And this effects Rich Text elements if you choose the hero/lead option.

But there are so few settings, and the option is on just this Rich Text element (I think)… like they had the idea and then forgot about it, or abandoned it.

One day, when bricks is all grown up, I wonder if it will quietly disappear, like a vestigial tail, and just a very few of us will not so much notice its passing, but just sense somehow that something is now gone…

@digismith Lol, that’s a great description.
How did you manage to find that?

It is a nice thing to have a dedicated lead text style.
Would you recommend using the css class system they have instead?

Not sure I’m qualified to recommend… but if there’s a class built in, that likely loads anyway, it would make sense not to add another one. And being able to use the theme stylesheet means an easy gui for it.
