With Bricks 2 having so many changes I have been holding off updating most sites to the latest version as it means a lot of testing on our end. I am not alone here.
With the latest security issue and patch, why was this not released for 1.12.4 branch?

Agreed. Updating over 10 sites to Bricks 2.0 is a major exercise, and one to be done carefully and with care and thoroughness. This is something I would normally wait some time to do, to allow for all of the (ongoing) issues that naturally arise out of such a major release to be resolved first.
But the announcement of the security issue that has NOT been patched in 1.12.4 forces my hand. I no longer have the luxury of waiting for 2.0 to settle down, lest I expose my sites to the now announced security issue.
I too would appreciate a fix for 1.12.4 to decouple these two major changes and give me as much time as needed to work through upgrading my sites to 2.0.

Thank you, I just discovered that after much digging around. I didn’t receive an email about this option, so I was not aware of it. I will update my sites with this shortly. Thanks.
Yeah they released 1.12.5 a few days later which was good. I did update a few websites to 2.0 during that time though since it was a security fix and I had no knowledge that a 1 branch security fix was coming…
I just wish they had let us know one was coming via an official email so I would not have had to worry about it.
Is this installed like any other theme update? Just click on the downloaded zip file? I am running Bricks 1.12.4 with a child theme.
You’d download the zip file from your account page, and then upload the theme to your site. Dashboard > themes > Add theme > upload theme.
There wouldn’t be way to do it through the ‘updates’ page, as the latest version will be v2.01
