Am I okay to use Bricks to build a static site?

I have an Ultimate Lifetime licence and I’ve used Bricks to build my website offline. The plan is to then, with each update, export the site to a static one and upload the static files to my host of choice. I’ve already tested a static export and it works really well.

My question is this… are there any issues in terms of the licence if I build and upload a static site rather than using it on a live Wordpress site? Would I get into trouble, or am I okay to do this?

Hey @Monkeyboy,

that’s perfectly fine and does not contradict our license conditions.

However, please use the official support channel (help@bricksbuilder.io) for questions regarding your account and/or license in the future.

Best,

André

Many thanks for the clarification.

might I ask which plugin or tool you are using for static page generation?

@nirose I’m using the Simply Static plugin.

Hey, Monkeyboy. Not sure how to privately message people, but are you having issues with Simply Static? Personally, my Bricks data doesn’t even show up, and the resulting static site is a bunch of nothing.

No, it’s working fine for me.

Are you using WordPress locally on your computer? Or WordPress.com’s website?

Locally. I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t be able to use the plug-in on wordpress.com

Every time I use Simply Static and upload the files to Netlify hosting, it shows the standard “Nothing found.” I really wish I knew what you did differently, but it’s probably something I messed up. Thanks for responding, anyway.

Did you get this working in the end?

I actually did. Thanks for asking. It WAS something I messed up. Basically, I had to set the permalinks to default settings and also PUBLISH the site… Anyway, it’s all good. I hope future people can benefit from this.
