I’d love to request a native integration for Friendly Captcha in the Bricks Form element.
Bricks currently supports Google reCAPTCHA, Cloudflare Turnstile, hCaptcha and Honeypot. All external providers except Honeypot rely on US-based infrastructure – which is problematic in many GDPR contexts here in the EU.
Friendly Captcha is a German / EU-based, privacy-first CAPTCHA solution.
No tracking, no cookies, no profiling, no behavioral analysis – instead it works with a small client-side proof-of-work challenge.
For European agencies, privacy-focused developers and GDPR-compliant projects this would be a huge benefit and a really important alternative.
Official docs:
I really hope this can be added as an additional provider inside Bricks Forms – just like Turnstile is integrated today.
If other EU devs see the same need: please upvote this request.
Thanks for the suggestion! I´ve just submitted the request to the official Bricks Idea Board as you recommended.
It’s currently showing “Idea successfully submitted for manual review.” Once it gets approved and published, the community should be able to vote on it.
I submitted this to the Ideas board on March 9th and it said it was waiting for manual review. Unfortunately I never received any update and I can’t find the idea anywhere. Could someone check whether it was rejected, lost, or is still pending?
If it somehow got lost, I’d be happy to submit it again.
Hi @Soluna,
It’s still pending. We receive dozens of submissions every day, all of which are reviewed manually. As a result, it may take some time before they are actually published.
However, I see you’re requesting hcaptcha, which is already supported:
Just to clarify: the feature request is for Friendly Captcha .
I only mentioned hCaptcha in the introduction because I was listing the providers Bricks already supports. The request itself is to add Friendly Captcha as an additional native provider for Bricks Forms.
For me, hCaptcha is not a suitable alternative, as it still relies on US-based infrastructure and therefore comes with the same GDPR concerns as other external providers. The main goal of this request is to have a truly EU-based, privacy-first option available.
Thanks for confirming that the submission is still pending!
