【2question】About top page and blog page settings
The theme I purchased in the past required the following settings.
I created a top page and a fixed news page.
In the display settings, I set the top page of the fixed page and the blog page.
Below are the questions.

Are settings 1 and 2 above necessary for the initial configuration of Brix Builder?

there is more than one way to make the homepage.
1 - index.php - theme file itself
2 - bricks builder templating system hooking to index.php
3 - selecting your homepage-page from reading setting wp setting
there are couple other options but will not go into those don’t want to confuse you
