1.8 Beta Feedback - Add dropdown link description + mega menu custom width setting

Loving the new update. One small feature that would really make this even more flexbile would be adding a description for a dropdown link item for maximum flexibility. E.g.

The second option that would be really useful is instead of having to enter a class for the mega menu to match the width of, we can just enter the desired width it needs to be, for fine control.

Hi Tom,
Sorry for the late reply!

You can already do this by wrapping the link with a div or block and adding icons, text, images, or whatever you like.

Regarding your second question: wouldn’t the dropdown, where you can set the width manually, also be an option for this?

Best regards,
timmse

Hey Timmse,

Thanks for your feedback to Tom’s question.

We still can’t get the dropdown title + description to be selectable via tabbing. Please see the attached screenshots. We have tried setting a block with HTML tag of li and one inside that with tag of a and then inside that the text.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated to know if this is possible.

Hi Chris,
Welcome to the forum!

Assuming I understood your question correctly, it works as expected for me: CleanShot 2023-06-22 at 17.28.01 · CleanShot Cloud

Just coming back to this one - it would be super cool if in future, a little description box could be added to a link element settings.

So, like you currently have an option to set an icon. An extra option for description would be good to add additional context within the linked element.

Tried your solution above @timmse - but it’s a faff and not neat for when keyboard tabbing through the menu keeping the whole menu item outlined, rather than just the text link only.

This would make it much easier to deploy more advanced looking menus without having to build them out with separate icon and text components.

Thank you!

Hi Tom,
Yes, that would indeed be a nice addition. However, I currently have no problems with the “manual” way. We will definitely think about it :+1:
