WAIT: Username not automatically generated

I’m using Bricks form to allow users to create their account. In the builder, it says that if the ‘username’ field is empty, the username will be generated automatically. But it actually isn’t. If I try to create an account I get the ‘Username required’ error. (The same happens with Bricksforge Pro Form).

Is this a bug, or is the hint wrong ?

Edit: the same is happenning with the ‘Password’ field.
