Hi bricks team,
Setting Indicators will be very useful for the status button.
I am correcting : this feature was added in the last two versions, but under certain conditions Setting Indicators are not displayed and that is why I could not find it. So I will describe the bug here and change the topic type to bug…
If we use css class for the element and create a hover status in it, Setting Indicators will not be displayed.
Hi @HOSEIN,
You are right, it does not show if we set it on class. I was able to replicate this and I added it to our internal bug tracker.
Best regards,
M
I already raised this but as an enhancement request: Show when there are pseudo-class style changes
Thanks, I’ve linked this post in our tracker also.
I found this issue recently, thank you @HOSEIN for letting them know about it!
Breakdance has a modified button. When you click on this button you see directely what is modified on the selected item in the structure panel. Its real cool.
Hey @renem,
this is a feature also in Bricks, since 1.10 beta
Best regards,
M
The problem is as has already been raised, the option to show modified stuff is at the bottom of the panel next to the search bar so you need to scroll to it. It would be much better to have it at the top somewhere along with an option to automatically show modified settings and then toggle off if required.
Sorry, I meant move the mouse downwards rather than scroll. Your screenshot is a bit misleading as the element settings panel is normally much longer than this (as shown in the video on 1.10 changes). This means a lot of up and down mouse movement.
If I load a page, then go and click on an element in the structure panel, I then have to move the mouse right down to the bottom of the settings panel to click on the modified settings icon. Then I have to move the mouse right the way up to change things, then maybe move the mouse down to turn off mod display etc. If the mod settings icon was perhaps just above or below the Content and Settings tabs, then there would be a lot less mouse movement, something like this:
Additionally if I am opening up a number of elements to make changes to the modified settings, every time I have to move the mouse down to show mod settings. This is why it needs a way of temporarily reversing how it works so the display by default only shows mod settings and then clicking on the mod settings indicator would turn it off and display all settings. This would help speed things up in later site development tweaking.
Ah, yes. I intentionally created a screenshot on a small screen, to show that the “Modified settings” control is always visible, even if you need to scroll to get to all the settings. And of course, usually there is way more space between the top and bottom.
As for your request, I understand it and will forward it to the rest of the team, so we can decide what to do. Thanks for your opinion and suggestion!
Best regards,
M
