SOLVED: Page Background not working in draft mode

Hi
Hope all is well for you.
To reproduce the issue:

  1. Create a page and not publish it (draft mode)
  2. set a background color in page settings
  3. preview the page

For me the background color only shows if I publish the page and not in Draft mode.
Tested with all plugins disabled.
