SOLVED: No possibility of targeting query for filters if it is a component

I’m once again needing to use filters inside components (like I did over a year ago) and encountered this limitation one more time. Hey @Matej is the team planning to make it possible any time soon? It might be the only thing left for making the components perfect.

I’m using component for a multilingual website where I sync pages’ contents using them. This solution works pretty good in general, but not being able to use filter inside components (or filter query builder which are in component) complicates the workflow.

sadly, there is no solution for this yet. It’s quite complicated to make this work properly, but we will take another look at it.

Hi Alan,
The problem described here (which has been solved) is not the problem you’re describing.
Your problem is this:

You have your filter inside the component, and this is not supported (WIP: Filters inside a component not supported - #5 by Matej)

As for now, filter elements can not be placed inside the component, as they need to be unique.

It’s like that:

• Query filters should never be placed inside the component. Query filters should always be their own element
• Query filter can only connect to the component query loop, if the query loop is defined on the main element of the component.
