SOLVED: Missing change indicator for Elements category title in Theme Style

Browser: Safari
OS: macOS

When changing an element in theme styles, the indicator is missing on the parent Elements card title, which seems like incorrect behaviour, because at a glance I would never know if any element defaults were changed until I drop down into the Elements parent directly.

Hi @d19dotca,

I moved your topic to the Feature Requests / Improvements because we discussed this internally and decided that as for now, we will not provide an indicator there because clicking it would clear out all element theme style settings at once.

So, because of this, this report will not be taken as a bug, but as a possible feature request, based on a popularity.

Best regards,
Matej

That’s an interesting point. Doesn’t it make sense though to still have an indicator, but maybe just not clickable? Or rather it can be clickable but offers a pop-up to double-check before clearing? I think there’s definitely ways to implement this without being too easy to clear all the element settings at once.

Hi @d19dotca,

it took me a looong time to answer , but we just created an internal task for this. It does make sense to have something there, and we’ll have to find a way to properly solve it.

Thank you for your patience :v:

Hey all, hey @Matej ,

in my opinion it could be the same indicator as everywhere else.
And if I click on it, all settings in elements will be deleted.

So, I do not agree with your arguments, because it is a logical behavior inside Bricks.
“we decided that as for now, we will not provide an indicator there because clicking it would clear out all element theme style settings at once.”

Thank for your opinion @joachim.auster.

This was a decision at that moment, and that was our thought process, but now we’ve created a task and have yet to decide how to solve it.

I’ll add your comment/opinion to the task though

Thanks,
Matej

If you are going to use the indicator to delete multiple settings then perhaps it could first force a revision to be taken? That way the would be an easy recovery.
Cheers
Alan

There is also undo/redo history button, which should revert the action - no need for forced revisions.
