SOLVED: Form Submission Bug with Caching Plugins After Update

@Matej - this seems to complicate matters. Perphaps the issue is OLS and the LS Cache plugin instead?

@Matej

I created a dev site with the nonce life set to 30 seconds using this:

add_filter('nonce_life', function () { return 30; }); // 30 seconds

and added two pages:

LS Cache Enabled

LS Cache Excluded

On each page, I have a version of the form with Turnstiles Enabled and without Turnstiles Enabled.

I have found issues with ALL iterations. Most notably:

  1. load the cache excluded page
  2. wait 30 seconds (for the nonce life to expire)
  3. attempt to submit the form without the turnstile (second one)
  4. the form submission will fail

We need this fixed like yesterday. It happens on all of my bricks sites.

Hi guys,

We can replicate the issue with Turnstile enabled + expired nonce.

We are working on it.

Jenn

Hi everyone,

If anyone wishes to test for a potential fix, kindly send an email to help@bricksbuilder.io from your license-purchased email. (Include this forum thread URL as a reference)

I will send you the file and instructions on how to apply to your test site.

Regards,

Jenn

I’m sure they are working hard on a fix! And atleast we learned something more about Nonces today kids :)!

I will send you an e-mail Jenn to test. Thanks for the quick replies and amazing product.

I am also experiencing page loading issues with LiteSpeed Cache plugin using various settings. After disabling LiteSpeed Cache, my page works 5x faster.

I implemented the fix on all my sites. It works fine for me on two different web hosts.

Hi @primexaos ,

It seems like yours is a different issue and more of a LiteSpeed cache plugin issue as your page is working fine without the plugin.

You should check with their plugin support, or you can create a separate forum post if you suspect it’s a bug in Bricks.

Regards,

Jenn

I received the code and deployed it on my dev site (with nonce set to expire after 30 seconds) and it works great. Is this something you can deploy as a hotfix? I have 50+ sites that need this update ASAP.

I have tested the fix and seems to work fine, set nonce to expire after 60 seconds to test and works great. As an FYI I don’t use any turnstile / captcha on the form.

I agree with @bvandrie a hotfix would be good as I’ve got a few sites with this issue.

We fixed this issue in Bricks 2.1.4, now available as a one-click update in your WordPress Dashboard.

Changelog: Bricks 2.1.4 Changelog – Bricks

Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues.
