# SOLVED: Duplicating a component block in the block editor copies blockId, breaking the original element

When using Bricks’ components in the block editor, it works fine if we keep adding blocks individually but if we ever duplicate one it causes the blockId to be the same, which can break the original block.

This is on both inside the editor and on the front end. The duplicated block will have the same ‘data-script-id’, so if you test with something like the slider, you see it prevents the original duplicated slider from initialising.

(i put v2.4.2 as the tag, as that’s what I was using, but I don’t know if it’s a new issue)
