I have a solution when developing locally.
On OSX, when using a service like WP Local or Mamp, you may create a new certificate, but it isn’t trusted by default.
Open Keychain Access and find the name of the local URL (search for it). Open the certificate and expand the ‘Trust’ section (closed by default). Set either the top (‘When using this certificate’) or the individual section below it to Always trust. Close the certificate and done. (The icon may not update until you search for it again, though).
When you copy/paste a section now (on the same domain!), you may be asked (chrome/FF) to allow it for a period of time.
