That’s great news! If that’s working and included in v1.9.9 along the team work improvement on classes and such, it will be the best update of Bricks EVER! :smile:

Hey charaf.

Overall speed improved for general bits, but odd behaviour with trying to change elements twice as the first time it doesn’t register (text,images,blocks,data fields, etc.)

Is this a bug so I need to revert back to the old one for a while? Shame as it’s slow but having to change things multiple times is frustrating for sure.

Hi everyone,

We’ve addressed most of the major pain points in Bricks 1.9.9 beta, now available as a manual download in your account (see changelog).

Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues.

As with any beta release, please do not use it on a production/live website. It is only meant for testing in a local or staging environment.

We’ve shipped most improvements but also received more feedback during the testing phase of the above-mentioned improvements. @sunny alerted us to other cases where performance degradation can be observed, so we will continue working on this, and this forum thread will remain marked as “WIP” for the time being. The major pain points addressed in 1.9.9 beta include:

  • Improved performance when adding a class
  • Improved performance when removing a class
  • Improved performance when renaming an element
  • Improved performance when duplicating an element
  • Improved performance when reordering elements

We will continue to work on the following areas:

  • Undo delete delay
  • Delay when adding new elements
  • Initial delay when typing a class name in the element classes dropdown
  • Delay when creating a new class

I did some quick initial tests and there’s a huge improvement. Thanks! I’ll let you know when I can test it more thoroughly.
