I am completely lost at the moment. I’m trying since yesterday to make an existing website multilingual with WPML. So far I have only worked with Polylang and Oxygen. This has always worked great. This time I have to use partly the same slugs for both languages (which would require Polylang Pro) and the customer already owned WPML.
Everything is translated manually. Polylang always created a copy (of the page or template) and then I manually exchanged the texts. Does it work the same way with WPML? When I click on “Add translation to English” on the Footer Template in the Bricks Template Overview and in the next step click on “Overwrite with German content” I get a “There has been a critical error on this website.” error message. Would this be the right way or are there other workarounds?
