SOLVED: Remove <link rel="profile" href="http://gmpg.org/xfn/11"> from header asap

Bricks Version: 1.4.02
Browser: ALL
OS: ALL
URL: any site with Bricks 1.402

please remove this from the header

And never ever bring this google GDPR nightmare over http back. No need to have an obligated link to google.

I’m not sure if this is really added by Bricks or not, if it is then it seems like many themes do this. Also I’m not sure if this is really a Google thing at all, so I don’t think it’s necessarily as ‘bad’ as you’re thinking it is, at least based on some quick sources I read about it this evening.

Additionally, you can use code snippets to remove those links, see this page for example with instructions: Remove These 10 Unnecessary Tags from WordPress Header (WP Version, Prev, Pingback, Feed Links & More) - Orbiting Web

PS - Presumably this is a feature request, not a bug (though I guess it depends on who’s asking, lol). These types of requests should have been filed in the Feature Requests category instead, my two cents at least.

see my rant at Why add XFN tag? - #4 by Johan

I noticed the feature request by Omega shows as WIP so looks like they’ll be incorporating that feature request in the future.

Just dislike seeing duplicates, so if there’s already a feature request for it then it really should have stayed in there rather than a duplicated bug report, IMHO. Just for future reference at least, please consider trying not to duplicate content when possible.

I agree for duplicates but his one was a question why it was needed , mine was to remove it
I know it’s just symantics
Will not do in the future.
thx for WIP.

Hey @Johan @d19dotca

The 1.5 stable release will have the XFN link removed.

Thank you for pointing this out.
