NO BUG: Bricks Will Not Recognize Custom CSS

Hi all,

I’m experiencing an issue where my custom CSS isn’t being consistently recognized in Bricks Builder. Here’s a detailed explanation of what’s happening:

Behavior Observed:

• The CSS applied to the custom CSS field doesn’t seem to work.

• When I try applying the styles directly to the custom CSS field on the content-container class or the ID, they still don’t take effect.

• The element, however, seems to read from the row-gap utility CSS portion of Bricks, but completely ignores my custom styles.

Troubleshooting Steps Tried:

• Refreshing the page multiple times.
• Clearing caches (browser and server-side).
• Restarting my computer.
• Saving and re-entering Bricks Builder.
• Verified my custom CSS syntax is correct.
• Applied custom CSS to both the class and ID.

Despite these steps, the problem persists intermittently. Sometimes, the custom CSS works as expected, but other times, it’s completely ignored.

Environment Details:

Browser: Google Chrome 131.0.6778.265

Operating System: macOS 15.2 Sequoia (M2 Chip)

Additional Notes:

• It feels like Bricks is inconsistently recognizing my custom CSS changes, even when I refresh and save repeatedly. Is this a known issue with Bricks Builder, or could it be related to my setup or workflow?

Any insights or troubleshooting advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hi Jimmy,
Thanks so much for your report!

Please provide a live like so I can check the styles on the frontend. Otherwise, it’s impossible to guess what’s happening since it’s not a known issue. Thank you!

Best regards,
timmse

Hi Timmse,

Sending you a direct message now. Thank you!

I’m getting a similar bug. Did you find a solution?
Custom CSS Filters do work, but when I try to add Custom CSS either to page, class or ID levels. It doesn’t work. I am editing Custom CSS from “Bricks-Settings-Custom Code” on the Dashboard, there it does work.
Is it a bug or I don’t have it well setup?

Hi @joanthebuilder,
Welcome to the forum!
Please create a new report with detailed information about your issue, as this report is fairly old.

As far as I can see, we unfortunately never received a link to the user’s website, but looking at the screenshot again, it could be that he inserted custom media queries that are actually inserted automatically. However, it’s difficult to say in this case because the screenshot is cropped.
