IMPLEMENTED: Option to add caption & description in gallery lightbox

@Anze We appreciate the follow-up on this request. Bricks itself is a massive collection of feature requests and will never be “finished”

There are hundreds of feature requests at any given time, and some, like this one, don’t get the attention they might deserve.

Considering the upvotes and work required to implement it, this one could have received more priority. We’ll try to fast-track it for the next release.

Thank you @thomas. That’s excellent news. I appreciate you moving up priority for this one.

Hi guys,

We’ve added this improvement in Bricks 1.10 beta, now available as a manual download in your account (see changelog).

Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues.

As with any beta release, please do not use it on a production/live website. It is only meant for testing in a local or staging environment.

Best regards,
M

Hi Bricks Team,
I was looking at this feature so far it looks good, but could you please consider enabling the option to display media Title and Description not only caption.

So we could do create Lightbox something like this: Gallery Classic 2 Column – Blacksilver Photography Theme for WordPress

Indeed. Dynamic data support in captions would be great. I use stock photos and use image custom fields to store the copyright notices. I need to display them in the lightbox.
Right now, I use gLightbox because of that, but I would prefer to do it natively in Bricks.

I just tested this new feature. If I enable lightbox captions and thumbnail navigation, the navigation bar’s small images cover the caption and you can no longer see the caption.

Can someone double check this? I have some custom settings on my gallery so that might also be contributing to this.

Hey @Anze,
have you tried to set “Padding”?

Then, it will look like this

Let me know if that helps,

Best regards,
M
