IMPLEMENTED: Auto-import images on template import

Another day, another rectangle… Just smarter? :brain:

By the way, if anyone has some fancy layouts - ideally in autolayout, or wants to prepare som fancy layouts with frames, just to throw it at the plugin, definitely feel free to share!

Today I actually have some more exciting and promising updates, we have texts and more complex layouts with absolute positioning.

I also added support for variable fonts, which I haven’t shown in the video, but if you use variable fonts in Figma, the plugin translates them in the font-variation-settings.

Excited to see more about this!

It would complete my web dev design setup to have a fully functional figma to bricks.

I wrote something similar for another software, but back then it was Illustrator and Photoshop (using JSX). My question is, wouldn’t it be easier to have a decent HTML to Bricks plugin and just use one of the many Figma to HTML plugins?

Hey, I don’t think so, Figma has a pretty comprehensive API to work with, and doing HTML to Bricks would just be an another subscription/step to take, as you’d need to pay/use an another tool. But that’s an approach as well

Uichemy already has a Figma to Bricks plugin with 30 supported Bricks elements

Interesting, I’ll check it out later. Tools and converters like these can be quite helpful, even if some cleanup is needed afterward. Many solutions on the market aim to address the blank canvas problem.

This is a crucial missing feature in Bricks opening up the tool to many more sources than only Figma.
I wouldn’t even classify Bricks as a traditional HTML editor… it deals in abstractions known as Bricks Elements that have a render function. Enabling* native HTML support would elevate the tool’s professionalism significantly. The same applies to the class importer — it shouldn’t be restricted to JSON/serialized format. At least, one can import CSS-Variables just by pasting them. Bricks should address these oversights to enhance its functionality.

at this point, that would probably be a native importer/exporter for HTML/CSS.

I just tested this out and it works, which is great, but it doesn’t let you select a unit (it does % and px) and it seems like it doesn’t work with max-width and the newer layout settings.

We’ve added this feature in Bricks 1.10.2, now available as a one-click update in your WordPress Dashboard.

Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues.
